2015 Community Service Events

Little League Football Camps

Players assisted with the little league football camps in order to better prepare our little brothers for their upcoming season.

Elementary Reading Program

The Cougar Football Players have volunteered to read to the Elementary School Children at Lathers Elemtary this past year and during football season.

Autos for Autism

The Cougar Football Program assisted volunteers at the annual Autos for Autism Event on July 13th.  Great weather and even better times were had at the event.

Relay for Life

The Garden City Cougars Football program was out in force at the Garden City Relay for Life Event this year.  Players assisted with set up of the event and were present to cheer on the survivors on their kick off walk.  It was truly a great day!  Unfortunately foul weather canceled the event the remainder of the event, however, it certainly did not dampen spirits and the cause.

2014 Community Service Events

Santaland Parade

The Cougar Football Players carried two balloons in the Santaland Parade this year.  The Cougar Football Flag was carried proudly by Jeremy Taylor.

Anti-Bullying Campaign

The Month of October is Anti-Bullying Month and in that spirit, the Cougar Football Players have volunteered to read a program to the Elementary School Children at Douglas Elementary.

Breast Cancer Awareness

The Month of October is Breast Cancer awareness Month.  The Cougar Football Program doned pink socks for all of their games during the month of October.

The Garden City Cougars Football program was out in force at the Garden City Relay for Life Event on June 14th and 15th.  Players assisted with set up and tear down of the event and were present to cheer on the survivors on their kick off walk.  It was truly a great day!

2013 Community Service Projects

 Santaland Parade

The Cougar Football Players carried two balloons in the Santaland Parade this year.  Our current players were joined by current college players Michael Pack (Wayne State), Tomaz McNeil (Eastern Michigan), and Erik Braun (Bluffton).   We would like to thank Inkorporate Graphics, who donated Cougar Football Santaland Parade shirts for the team to wear.

The Month of October is Breast Cancer awareness Month.  The Cougar Football Program doned pink socks for all of their games during the month of October.  In addition monies were raised to be donated to Garden City Hospitals Community Education Department in support of Women’s Health Care Issues.

Garden City Downtown Development Authority Chili Cook Off

Cougar Football Players assisted with the Chili Cook Off again this year.

Central Office Moving Project

Players assisted with moving offices at Central Office.

DDA Bar-B-Q to benefit Downtown Art

Players will assisting with this event and will welcome “Willy” back to the City!

Burger East is moving to the Old Henry Ruff Elementary School

GCHS Football players are being requested to help with this move on Thursday 6/13/13 from 12 noon to 3 p.m. @ both schools.  Burger East is located on the West side of Cambridge High School.  If needed we will also be requested to assist with the move on Friday.

Autos for Autism Event

July 8th

Football players assisted with set up, tear down, and various tasks during the autos for autism event on July 8th @ GCHS.  While the event was a little wet at times, a great time was had by all!

Relay for Life

6/1/13 & 6/2/13

St Timothy’s Lutheran Church

Players from the football program pulled up old carpeting in the basement so that new carpet could be installed.

2012 Santa Land Parade

The Cougars Football Players carried the turtle baloon in the Santa Land Parade on 11/24/12.  Although a chilly day, a great time was had by all.

DDA Chili Cook Off

Garden City Football players assisted at the Downtown Development Authorities Chili Cook Off which was held at the Farmers Market.

Cougar Football Supports Our Troops

Thank you to all who purchased a shirt, and braved the weather, to support our troops and veterans at last Friday’s game. We were able to donate $850.00 to Blum’s Landing as a result. If you still wish to purchase a shirt, you can still do so and $10 from every shirt sold will be donated to Blum’s Landing. Autos for Autism

July 9th from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Garden City Football players are encouraged to assist with the Autos for Autism event being held @ GCHS on July 9th.

Relay for Life

The Garden City Football players assisted participants with setting up and tearing down their camps for the Relay for Life event.

Kiwanis Club Kids Day @ the Park

Cougar players assisted with set up, tear down and supervision of the bouncers so that the younger kids could enjoy their day.

Women’s Football Academy

Cougars players and coaches conducted their second annual women’s football academy, which a   portion of the proceeds is being donated to Garden City Hospital and to their community education department for women’s health issues.

Burger School Family Fun Field Day

Cougar football players assisted with this event on 5/12/12 and all had a great time!

Garden City Rotary Club Easter Egg Hunt @ Henry Ruff

Players assisted the Garden City Rotary with their first annual Easter Egg Hunt, which was held at Henry Ford Elementary on 4/7/12.

Garden City Middle School Project

Garden City Football players assisted Ms. Wertz at the Middle School with clean up of the court yards in preparation of the gardens at the Middle School.

Maxwell’s Arts & Treasures

Garden City Football players are assisted with general outside clean up at Maxwell’s.
